Hi! I am Carolyn "Ocean" Friedman, 
Volunteer Program Manager for the Western Communities 
(Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee and the Acreage) 
and webmaster of this Girl Scout Web Site.  

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our service area.  
 
As Program Mgr.  I help to co ordinate activities for the Girl Scouts in the Western Communities (Wellington, RPB, Loxahatchee and the Acreage).  We have a group of leaders that have been planning activities for upcoming year.  I invite you to click on the link on the HOME page to access information about upcoming local events. There is a link to council's web page below. On this site, there are links to many informative sites with GS information and Program & Community Service & Calendar of Events.  Please contact me or the event chair for any local event(s) your troop is interested in. 

I also am responsible for forwarding information to the leadership.  You will get LOTS of emails from me.  I you have any questions regarding any of the emails, please do not hesitate to ask. If you do not see my sign off in any email, it is because I am just forwarding the information, please contact the person sending the information for more details.


We have leader meetings (also called service unit meetings) every month.  They are an excellent way of finding out what is going on in GSUSA, our council and the western communities. It is also a great way to network with other leaders, to get new ideas, or find a "sister" troop. 
These meetings are on the second Wednesday each month 
at Royal Palm Beach High School 
in the Media Center at 7 PM.   
It is preferable that you or your co leader attend these meetings.  If both of you attend that is even better.  If neither of you can attend, please try to recruit a mom to come to the meetings and get the information for the troop.  It may be intimidating to a parent to come but, please assure her that we don't bite.  :0 )  This year as an incentive to attend meetings, your troop will earn a better place in the cookie booth picking line for each meeting that you attend.  Please see the Product Sale page for more information about this policy
